From DreamSofa to Dollhouse: Designing My Custom Couch at Every Scale

You know that feeling when something arrives and it’s exactly what you pictured in your head? That’s how I felt when my custom DreamSofa showed up at my door.
I love interior design, both on a big and small scale. And while my old couch definitely brought the aesthetic, it was not comfortable at all. I was ready for a change. Something colorful, more functional, offering plenty of room for me and my guests to actually sit comfortably.
Working with DreamSofa has been a literal dream. They sent me a generous stack of samples to feel and play with in my space, and the moment I laid eyes on the ‘Andrew Forest' swatch, I knew it was the one. It’s a beautiful rich green chenille fabric, so incredibly soft! I wanted a pop of color, and it instantly brought warmth, texture and personality into the room.

But it wasn’t just the fabric that sold me. I got to customize everything. And when I say everything, I mean everything:
the length to fit my tiny, oddly shaped living room wall
the depth and comfort level to match my “lay down and binge Netflix” lifestyle
the leg color (to match all of my new dark walnut wood furniture, obviously)
and the overall style, which feels clean, modern and timeless. I went with the Antalya sectional.
The process was so simple. Just a streamlined site, beautiful swatches, and a surprisingly fast turnaround. The icing on the cake was the white glove delivery service. I didn’t even have to lift a finger! They brought it upstairs for me and had it unpackaged and set up within minutes. I honestly didn’t expect to be this impressed, but I was. I still am!

And because I’m me, and because I love miniatures almost as much as I love a cozy living room… I did what any self-respecting miniature interior designer would do.
I made a miniature version of my DreamSofa.
Yep. I recreated the entire thing in 1:12 scale. I had just finished building a new living room diorama, and this couch was the missing piece. It felt like the ultimate design full-circle moment, the real thing sitting just a few feet away while I stitched together its tiny twin.
I don’t always get to bring my 1:12 scale ideas into real life. But DreamSofa let me flip that script. They took my interior vision and brought it into the full-sized world, and I loved it so much that I had to shrink it back down again.
This is what I mean when I say creativity doesn’t have a size limit. Whether I’m designing in inches or feet, the feeling is the same: joy, possibility, and the kind of cozy magic that turns a blank canvas into home.
